On October 14, 2007 we held an Open House Extravaganza at over 20 Orangeburg-area homes. CENTURY 21® franchises across S.C. held open houses that weekend, with one lucky South Carolinian winning free gas for a year. We gave away four $25 gas cards during the event, which were won by L. J. Myers, Jr., Ken McRae, Tarun Prabhakar and Art Brantley. Cal Bruner of CENTURY 21 The Moore Group is pictured here (at right in photo) presenting a gas card to Art Brantley.

We had a booth again this year at the Orangeburg County Fair. Our Associates and Staff not only manned the booth, but some entered their creations in various judged exhibits. Marsha Benner took home blue and red ribbons for her doll costumes, and Edna Fischer's floral arrangement won a red ribbon.

Our own Edna Fischer (at center in photo), always active in Orangeburg's civic affairs, helped bring about the creation of Orangeburg's own "Rainbow Row." In her capacity as past president of the Downtown Orangeburg Revitalization Association, she approached Richard Smoak, set designer for the Orangeburg Part-Time Players (at left in photo) about painting the walls of a Russell Street alley. You can see from the photo that the project evolved into something much more than a simple coat of paint! Smoak drew on Charleston's famed Rainbow Row for inspiration for his mural of bright pastels. Also pictured is DORA's Curt Campbell. Photo by Christopher Huff of The Times and Democrat.
